How we think about our life experiences influences our emotions, and our emotions influence how we think about and see ourselves and the world. Too many of us have learned to numb or resist our more difficult feelings, like sadness, anger, remorse, and fear. When we ignore our feelings, our thoughts can continue running rogue in the background of our minds, often contributing to more difficult feelings.
When we stop everything and get still, we can feel what we're feeling. When we acknowledge and name our emotions, we can then start to look at how our thoughts and feelings are connected. When we manage to change our thoughts to better ones, we start to feel better. But feelings come and go, and that's what they're meant to do. They bring us messages if we're brave enough to get quiet and listen.
Feeling deeply is worthwhile to get to know yourself, your patterns, and to create a more joyful you. Happier, you'll also get along better and help lift those around you. What could be more worthwhile to create?
