Tomorrow is a big day in Punxsutawny PA, where crowds will gather
to see what happens when the groundhog emerges from his hole.
But what will the groundhog really be seeing and feeling?
It's not easy to see our own shadows,
and maybe the groundhog also tends to ignore his own.
It could be the crowd's shadows
that scare him back into his burrow.
In the 1993 movie Groundhog Day, Bill Murray is forced to
relive the same day until he rises above his troubling ways.
We all sometimes create shadows within and around us, often
in effort to protect ourselves from fear or pain. When we
shine light on our habits, we can begin to climb out of
any gloomy burrow we're in and move with brightness.

Here's hoping the groundhog and all of us courageously face our shadows.
